Review a month's revenue alongside recipe costs and the overhead allocated to Hotel and F&B.
Before you start
You need accounting viewing access, a selected property and recorded sales and costs for the month. Exporting requires export access. Review unresolved allocations in Overhead & allocations before interpreting a full cost or margin figure.
Steps
- Open Accounting → Reports and confirm the property.
- Use Search reports to choose F&B cost and margin, Room cost and margin or Consolidated cost and margin. The catalogue shows reports appropriate to the property's accommodation and F&B operations.
- Set Report month and Currency. Choose the current month or a past month.
- Review the report's basis, coverage notes and monthly status. An open month is provisional; a closed month uses the figures saved at close.
- For F&B cost and margin, compare recorded net sales, recipe-cost coverage, allocated expenses, labour and depreciation. Review any unallocated overhead as well as the amounts attributed to sold items: the full F&B overhead pool still contributes to the monthly result.
- For Room cost and margin, review room and other Hotel service revenue, the Hotel overhead pool, and costs per sellable unit, available unit-night and occupied unit-night. After overhead is the remaining contribution before other direct room costs and taxes; use the profit and loss report for posted accounting profit.
- For Consolidated cost and margin, review the Hotel and F&B sections together, keeping their currency and cost-coverage notes in view.
- With export access, choose CSV, XLSX or Print. Check that the downloaded report has the intended property, month and currency.
Expected result
You have a monthly view that explains the available revenue, cost allocation and margin for the selected business. Opening or exporting the report does not change prices, charges or allocations.
If a report is missing or a total is unavailable
Confirm the selected property and its business scope. A property offering only F&B does not show lodging reports. Follow the report's missing-cost or revenue-coverage notes; unavailable full cost and margin figures should not be treated as zero. Keep separate currencies separate. To correct saved closed-month figures, use the authorised period reopening and closing process.
