Review daily room prices alongside the property's monthly Hotel overhead and update an individual selling rate.
Before you start
Select an accommodation property with room types and rate plans. Viewing the calculated overhead requires accounting viewing access. Changing room rates requires permission to manage property pricing.
Steps
- Open Reports, then choose Room cost & pricing in Report. You can also open Rate Calendar in Revenue Brain.
- Choose the starting date and select 7 days or 30 days. Find the intended room type, rate plan and date.
- Review Calculated room overhead alongside the rates. Check the selected month's Monthly Hotel overhead, Available unit-nights, Per configured unit / month, Per available unit-night and Per occupied unit-night.
- Select a rate cell. In the editor, compare Selling rate, Overhead / available night, After overhead and After-overhead margin.
- Enter the new Selling rate in the displayed currency and choose Save price. Confirm the updated value in the intended rate cell.
- To change several dates together, choose Update rates for a date range and open Update rates in the pricing workspace. Review the selected room type, rate plan and date range before applying the change.
Expected result
The selected room type, rate plan and date show the new selling rate. The calculated overhead provides monthly cost context; it is not itself a rate or a guest charge.
Understand the overhead figures
Hotel overhead includes the Hotel share of expenses, labour and depreciation and may cover other hotel services as well as accommodation. Its per-night figures are monthly averages. After overhead does not include every direct room cost or booking tax, so it is not final profit. Open months can change as more records arrive; closed months use saved figures.
If rates or overhead need attention
Choose Retry rates if the calendar could not load. If the selling rate changed elsewhere while you were editing, choose Close and reload rates and review the latest rate before making a new change.
Use Review monthly allocation or Review allocations for cost warnings. An occupied-night figure needs recorded occupied nights, and room-cost calculations need valid accommodation quantities. Resolve the displayed basis or cost issues before relying on an unavailable figure; do not treat it as zero.
