Save a workflow as a template your team can configure for future automations.

Before you start

Open the source automation and save the intended revision. Decide which property-specific fields should be configured whenever someone uses the template.

Save a template

  1. Open Review → Save as template.
  2. Under Template destination, select Create a new template.
  3. Enter Template name and Template description.
  4. Under Choose fields to configure when installing, select the fields each new automation should map to its own property.
  5. Review the source revision and selected fields, select the acknowledgement and choose Save template.

Publish another version

  1. Save the revised source automation and reopen Save as template.
  2. Choose the existing template under Template destination, review the fields, select the review acknowledgement and choose Save new template version.
  3. Open Templates → Yours, select Use template and inspect Template version.
  4. Use Compare with version and Inspect configuration and mapping changes to review the difference before creating another automation.

Expected outcome

Each saved template version remains available for review. Existing automations keep their current configuration when a template changes.

Retire a template

In Templates → Yours, choose Archive and Confirm archive. This stops new installations while retaining existing automations and saved versions. If a required installation field has no suitable resource, create or select that property’s resource before creating the draft.
