You can charge an existing tab to a guest room after all its items have been sent to KOT. The sent items remain on the tab's bill even when the new-item cart is empty. Review that existing bill and use Charge room; you do not need to add another item or create another order to transfer the charge.

Steps

  1. Review the intended order and total in Order Hub. For an existing tab, check its sent items and outstanding balance: an empty new-item cart can still have an already-sent bill to charge. Choose Charge room for an eligible hotel stay, or Pay later for an approved city-ledger account.

  2. For a room charge, use Search room or last name, select the returned stay and review its guest, room, billing mode and allowed charge categories. The search and selected stay remain available while charging a tab with no new items. This path requires an online authorisation.

  3. Choose Use room charge (or Charge to room, where shown) in the dialog and verify Charged to room. This completes restaurant collection and leaves the unpaid amount on the guest folio; it does not record cash received. Changing the search clears the selected stay, so select the correct result again before confirming. An unavailable or rejected stay is not eligible merely because a room number is known.

  4. For Pay Later, select the account offered by the guarantor/city-ledger dialog, enter the relevant notes and confirm the deferred settlement. Review the account and amount on the resulting acknowledgement.

  5. Follow personal room charges in the guest folio and collect the outstanding amount there before checkout. Do not charge the same order again in POS or add items to its transferred bill; use a new order for additional items and the permitted adjustment workflow for corrections. Approved corporate wallet or credit arrangements follow the recorded company settlement. A city-ledger acknowledgement records an amount owed; it is not evidence that cash was collected.
