Use a recorded physical card as the starting point for an additional copy, replacement, extension, erase, lost-card action, or checkout action. These steps apply to the PULMOS cards workspace.
Before you begin
Select the property and use an account permitted to issue door access. Lost-card and checkout door actions also require authority to manage door hardware. Identify the exact recorded card; keep the original card available when it is to be inspected or erased.
Steps
- Open Access Control → PULMOS cards and review Recorded physical cards. Check the guest or staff member, room scope, validity, and card identifier. When the physical card is available, open Read card in the encoder, place it on the reader, and choose Read presented card to inspect its identity and access details without writing it. An unclassified result does not establish that the card is blank or erased.
- Under Prepare a card draft, choose Card purpose: Additional copy, Replacement, Extension, Erase, Lost card, or Checkout, according to the required action. Select Recorded source card and review its recorded validity. Current booking or staff authority determines the scope and expiry of any new card.
- Create the displayed draft. Open the property's configured encoder, choose Refresh drafts, and select the same action and source card.
- Place the card requested by the encoder on the reader. For Erase, present the original recorded card. Choose Encode and verify and keep the card in place until the result is verified.
- Review Encoding history and recovery and the updated physical card records. For a replacement, lost card, or checkout action, review Outstanding card revocation at doors.
- Take the required card to every listed door and apply it according to the property's lock procedure. Check the old card's rejection where the card is available.
- For each door actually completed, enter Door action notes, confirm that you applied the required card at that door and verified rejection where available, then choose Confirm physical door action. Confirm the remaining door list is resolved for the action.
Expected outcome
The selected card action is recorded and each required physical door action has its own confirmation. Erasing one card does not erase its other physical copies.
If the old card still opens a door
An offline door may continue accepting an old card until the required cancellation card has been presented there. Recheck the affected doors and outstanding actions with the person responsible for door hardware. Do not mark a door confirmed from an encoding result alone. If a write is uncertain, recover it before issuing another card.
