Requires permission to manage customer engagement; customer access is still property scoped.

Steps

  1. Open the customer from Engagement → Customers, select Preferences & consent, and find Subscription controls. Verify you have the correct customer. Subscribed by default means no explicit withdrawal has been recorded; it does not mean the guest supplied affirmative consent.

  2. To unsubscribe, remove unwanted Enabled channels, or clear Marketing subscription enabled for a global withdrawal. An unsubscribe does not require a published consent text.

  3. To re-enable a previously withdrawn channel, obtain the guest's new confirmation for all channels and check that a Consent text version is published. Re-enabling a channel selects all channels and records a combined confirmation when saved. Default capture never reverses an explicit unsubscribe.

  4. Choose Save subscription preferences and verify Subscription preferences saved. and the updated state. Email unsubscribe links and SMS/WhatsApp STOP replies also work for customers who are not loyalty members.

  5. For property WhatsApp, review Property WhatsApp permission on the same tab. Its history shows each recorded status, source, notice version and consent text. The general subscription controls do not grant this separate permission. Guests send the QR's prepared request in WhatsApp, then choose Menu + updates after reading the property notice or Menu only without new permission. View menu only on the browser page bypasses WhatsApp entirely. Permission covers the selected property across its outlets and creates no loyalty membership. A previous WhatsApp opt-out remains in place after another QR scan. To subscribe again, the guest sends START to the property's number and replies YES to the new permission request, or explicitly chooses Menu + updates on a fresh notice inside WhatsApp.

See Property WhatsApp Engagement for connection, consent and follow-up settings.
